Two of the nicest gals waited on me & I ordered a cassatta cake that was amazing. I told these two sweet gals, it sure resembles a VITOS cassatta Cake on Moraviavin they both smiled...same owner same recipe!! Truly great to not have to trek back towards Fraser! 2 sizes small square $7.99 or the Mega Cassatta Cake $16

Great bakery items... terrible service. The problem sometimes with small businesses is that there is no accountability for service, and they get a little full of themselves. They are overly cautious with production (which keeps costs regulated I am sure), which results in frequently being out of basic items. Then, you better watch out if you are like the majority of the population that uses a credit/debit card, because they act like you are taking money out of their bank account with your card. It's the 21st century people, debit and credit cards are part of doing business, plan your pricing strategy accordingly. I will not be back here because of the bad service and credit card up charge, but still give them 2 stars for having decent product (when it's available).

cheesygrapes.blogspot.co… This review is long overdue. My wife found Militello's Bakery when she was planning for our wedding 4 years ago. When I try to recollect the events on my wedding day, there are only a few things that come to mind. One of them is how beautiful our wedding cake was made. We ordered the pineapple mandarin orange torte and it was so delicious. We made it a tradition to get a Militello Torte every year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Gasper for creating such a beautiful wedding cake! Please click on the link above to read my review and take a look at our wedding cake picture - taken by Taylor Grey Photography. Leo C.

I got my wedding cake from here, and I have mixed feeling about them. On one hand my cake was beautiful (a lot to do with the flowers our florist but on the cake), on the other hand it was the wrong flavor. When we originally went there we were a little turned off because the owner is pretty pushy about selling his cakes, but the cake was so good we decided to go with him. We put down the down payment and a month before the wedding we paid in full. When we finally got all of our responses back for our wedding we ended up having a ton of people not coming and had way to much cake! We were only going to have about 130 people at our wedding and we had cake for 160! So I called thinking we could get a smaller cake and he told us no because we were already paid in full. Another turn off! Number one it was a little over 2 wks until our wedding so its not like they already bought the supplies. And number 2 we basically got punished because we did what we were suppose to and paid in full. I definitely would tell people not to get a cake from here because they are good. But I would def warn them!

I live close enough to Militello's to walk there. We often pick up some of their rolls. Just simple rolls with or without sesame seeds. They are fresh and sell out way to quick. They are good for sandwiches, with pasta or just by themselves. Recently my parents celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. My brothers and I decided to pick them up a cake for their silver anniversary. I went in having no idea what I wanted. The girl at the desk was very helpful and pulled out a book of ideas specifically for wedding anniversaries. We picked one with greyish-silver flowers up the side and of course the requisite Happy Anniversary writing. My next choice was the flavor. Again, I wasn't sure they all sounded so good. We went with a torte instead of a cake and when I couldn't decide they gave me several samples to take home and taste. My brothers and I had a taste test and decided on the Raspberry Torte, although it was a tough decision. Wow, was it tasty. My parents loved their torte and it was eaten quickly. My ever so picky grandfather is also a fan of Militello's. He's from Germany and thinks nothing in the States can compare with the baked goods from over there. Apparently, Militello's fits the bill. He often stops and picks up little treats for himself and to bring to his family. If he loves it that's saying a lot.

Where do I begin? The fantastic Canolis, Paczkis or cakes?! Mr. Militello is truly a master of his craft; he is a real Baker. They did a great job on a Disney Pixar Cars cake recently for my son's 3rd birthday. The picture I gave them for cake come out looking better than the original image! And the cake was so moist and delicious. Most of my guests asked for seconds! Plus, their 'made from scratch' cake was cheaper than V & J's sheet cake (which is made with some type of Betty Crocker knock-off mix)! I love supporting family-owned businesses that do what they do because they are good at it and they enjoy it (and not for the $$). It really shows in their end product!

Best bakery in town! Everything I've had here has been great. Brownies, pastries, cannolis - all delicious. My favorite, though, has to be the ricotta-filled ones. They are creamy and delicious with little chocolate chips inside and a cherry on the end of it. They are mini-cannolis, though - if only they made them bigger!

I cannot thank Militello's for helping me out when I was in a bind. I had given an order to a baker friend of mine for a birthday cake for my mom. I could see where it might give someone problems. It had to be nut and yellow dye #5 free due to food allergies. On the Friday night (Mom's b-day was Tues) before mom's birthday she told me at 8:00pm that she would be unable to make the cake and to find some place else. Freaking out, I came here out of a recommendation. I could not be more relieved that I did. They were able to make me the custom designed cake I needed in two days. They were total life savers. They also made me an all-white cake so I would not have to worry about the dyes. The cake was somewhat pricey for the super simple cake and design I brought to them. Although, they are a bakery and it looks like they spend a lot of their time making really intricate desserts and wedding/occasion cakes. I'm not too upset over the price because I was in a bind and it wasn't nearly as high a cost as I expected to incur because it was so last minute. Thank you Militello's and I will be sure to recommend you to everyone I know for their dessert/cake needs. You are fabulous!

Driving around Shelby Township this afternoon, Militello's caught my eye. I love bakeries and am I glad I popped in here. Initially I was turned off by the $10(!) minimum for charge cards, but given the current state of things I'll give them a pass. I knew I had some change in the car, so I ran out & scrounged up $1.50. That meager sum of money allowed me to buy a "Punchatello," otherwise known as an Italian paczki. The gentleman behind the counter told me outright that I was in for a treat. Boy, was I. This decadent treat is a deep fried donut filled with housemade canoli cream. The dough was chewy, slightly crisp, and buttery. The cream was sweet, but not cloyingly so and studded with chocolate chips, which add a nice touch of semi-sweet bitterness to the party. The whole thing was covered in powdered sugar - making quite a mess of my car & my clothes once I started devouring it. There are tons of other goodies here as well. I mean, it IS a bakery. A lot of it looked really good. They also had Muffaletta, an Italian style sandwich with meat & cheese on a sesame seed bread. Usually round in shape, Militello's cuts the sandwich into triangular pizza-like slices. Next time I am near Shelby Twp, I will swing by for round 2.
